The feria begins!

Today was the first day of the feria (the fair). People have been raving about the fair ever since I got here, so I was very curious to see how it is. Besides the typical fair/carnival part of with amusement rides and fair food, there are also a lot of other activities. Today there was a parade by the cathedral, with floats and blow up animals. There was also a medieval market where they were selling different foods and jewelry.  There are also various theater/music activities and today I saw donkeys too. Haha.
The main part of the feria however, is the nightlife. There are “casetas” (tents) set up on the fairgrounds that are basically outdoor discotecas. There are also baked potato, bocadillo and kebab stands as well as churros. There are stands that have what looks like shots of sweet wine as well, which is apparently super typical for the fair. Of course there are also amusement rides. La tombola is the fair shop that sells toys and such for the children and some come dressed up in their flamenco dresses.  The night life is intense. For the first night I went to a couple bars with Ana before going to the fair with her. I really didn’t expect for there to be so many people there. We didn’t even arrive until around 4am and we were there for a couple hours.
